My journey in education began during university, spending summers as a counsellor at an adventure camp in Texas. After graduating, I worked for several years as professional crew aboard ocean-voyaging tall ships dedicated to training sailors in the traditional methods of seamanship.
I spent a year in Jakarta, Indonesia, as a copy editor at The Jakarta Post, and in 2012 I moved to the UK, where I had the opportunity to pursue my love of literature by earning a PGCE in Secondary English and an MA in English. I left secondary schools to be a stay-at-home dad after the birth of the first of my two daughters in 2016, with the second arriving in 2021. I teach evening lessons at WLES, specialising in academic exam preparation and writing skills.
